e-Games unleashes Runes of Magic

IP e-Games, the online gaming subsidiary of technology and communications conglomerate, IPVG, has announced its partnership with Tahadi Games for the rights to promote and operate Runes of Magic in the Philippines.



Developed by Taiwan-based Runewaker Entertainment, Runes of Magic is a new fantasy MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game), using a popular Western-style high-fantasy backdrop complete with heroic quests, crafting, incredible creatures and monsters to defeat. Runewaker, has put more than three years of development into the game.

With an extensive range of features, Runes of Magic is set to redefine the standard for free-to-play titles. Runes of Magic conveys an absorbing story through more than 1,600 quests in an exciting and dangerous fantasy world. Players can choose between six main classes and combined with a secondary class, choose to create a character from 30 character class combinations. All characters possess unique skills with impressive combo attacks and can use mounts including war horses.

John Tang, President of Runewaker, said they built Runes of Magic to surpass current game worlds in many respects. “In the process, we have set new standards in design, technology, features and sheer dimension. Aside from doing quests and destroying monsters, Runes of Magic provides players with crafting skills and jobs. Operation7 is an MMOFPS, which puts much worth on realism. Recently introduced by gaming company e-Games / X-Play in their first ever MMOFPS to serve thousand of Pinoy First Person Shooter enthusiasts. e-Games launched its closed beta testing last Thurs, August 20, 2009.

The main feature of Operation7 is a gigantic weapon management. Are you sick of same guns that everyone is using? You can modify your guns, many parts for all guns such as Dot Sights, Scopes, Kobs, Silencers, Gun Body, Barrels, and build up a unique gun for you! And each component can use protective coloring. Each gun will vary in range and accuracy depending on the material is used. A part has effect on the other one. The weapons, which you bought, do not expire. I.e. player, who plays not regularly Operation7, does not have to be afraid that his/her weapons after some time expires. The weapons arises more tactical possibilities in fights. Background Story
Since the dawn of ages, a Great Empire had once dominated the whole world under one King. TwelveSky 2 PH Goes Open Beta

My Game PH, publisher of TwelveSky 2 announced the tentative date for the launching of Open Beta Testing that will start Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 3PM to be exact. After the succesful trial and latency checks performed this early wek of August finally it set the game now to "Wipes No More" phase setting with the Item Mall Option also made available for the players in the opening day.

Note:

1. Top 1000 highest-level players of each server from August 20, 3:00PM to August 22, 3:00PM.
2. Top 1000 of the 1st server and top 1000 of the 2nd server with a minimum level of 50 is qualified to join this event.

Important: Your character must be level 50 above to join this event. A maximum of 2000 winners for this event.

(For newly installed and to those who have played in the Pre-Beta)

Important reminder: Please check your game client as early as now!

Steps on how to check if your client is working:

1. Double click on TwelveSky 2 icon at your desktop
2. Make sure your patch is complete
3. Click on Game Start

Emil Chronicle Online Coming to SEA

After successfully tested the game in its Closed Beta phase. SG/MY/PH players wildly anticipate the grand open beta launching of this new MMORPG created by Gravity and hosted by Run Up in SEA server.

Introduction:

The story of Emil Chronicle Online (ECO) takes place in the land of Acronia. In this great world there exists; Emil (human race), Titania (angels) and Dominion (demons). There are three worldly layers, where the parallel worlds exist above and below of Acronia - Tatania is on top, Dominion is below and Acronia is in the center.

Emil succeeded in developing a truly sophisticated civilization but collapsed due to the complete depletion of earth's valuably resources. In response to this resource shortage, a contraption known as the orbit elevator was built to bridge earth and space to seek new forms of resources. This grand plan unfortunately bridged parallel worlds instead of earth with space, this lead to complete chaos and inter-parallel world battles ensued between the three races.

From the cinders of battle emerged a new history as the past was left behind, the race to rebuild and regroup had begun for the three worlds to reclaim their rightful place in the "world".

ECO has three races for players to choose from: Emil (the humans), Titania (the white-winged angels) and Dominion (the bat wing tailed demons). Each race gets higher stats on certain attributes than the other races. Emil players have a high vitality start, Titania players lean more towards high intelligence and magic while Dominion players have high STR but lowered vitality and agility.

The job advancement system is one of the systems which made Emil Chronicle Online unique. On your first job advancement, you need to fulfill a task / requirement given to you by your desired job class instructor. For example: in order to acquire the job Scout, you need at least 10 STR and must survive traveling from Arconia Southern Beach to Arconia Eastern Plains.

The surface quality of the statue will change depending on the ruling period of the Guild Master. The longer he rules, the better quality the statue — from stone to gold.

Discounted Items
The items sold by the NPCs in this divine city cost lower than other city, and their item refinement skills are better too.

Special Title
The Guild and its Guild Master or Clan Warlord that conquer Alchanir will be given special titles.

Server Announcement
After the Guild Master conquers Alchanir, the system will announce the name of the Guild Master to all players, so that the Guild Master can be worshipped by thousands!

War of the Emperor Rules

1. The guild war runs from 20:00 to 22:00 daily.
2. At 19:50, the system will announce the name of the clans that joined the war as well as the time of war. All the defensive players in the guild war map will be sent to the starting point.
3. During the war, all members of the warring party can teleport to the battlefield through Alchanir of SlyRiver.
4. The war starts at 20:00.
5. During the war, all non-participating players in the guild war map will be teleported to SlyRiver below Alchanir.
6. Players who joined a clan for less than 1 week are not eligible to join the guild war.

Emperor Wars Registration Requirements

* Players must be registered by a Guild Master or a Deputy Guild Master that reaches level 3, and the Guild most be older than 7 days
* You will need at least 1 Guildwar Token and 100 Gold as registration fee. Current defensive guild and guild that has been registered for another Guildwar cannot register again.
* Talk to the Guildwar Officer of SlyRiver to know the items and Gold you need based on the time of your registration.

APCN2 cable cut cripples connections

A cut in the Asia-Pacific Cable Network 2 (APCN2) undersea submarine cable crippled connection speeds for users in the Asia-Pacific region on Wednesday, particularly in Singapore and the Philippines.

Users were sending updates to local forums and Twitter, complaining of slow connection speeds to sites hosted outside of the region.

According to a notice sent by Malaysian telco, TM Net, the cable fault was traced to segment 7 of the APCN2, which stretches between Shantou, China and Tanshui, Taiwan. TM Net traced the outage to Typhoon Morakot, which hit the region over the weekend.

Additionally, segment 1 of the APCN2 is also currently under repair. Repairs on segment 7 are expected to commence after work on segment 1 is completed.

TM Net said the repairs are expected to be completed by late evening Aug. 13.

Singapore operator, SingTel, confirmed the cable fault in an e-mail to ZDNet Asia, saying the APCN2's consortium members have started restoration works and are diverting Internet traffic to other cable systems. It said the situation is expected to return to "acceptable levels" within the next 24 hours.

A status update posted on InternetTrafficReport.com showed SingTel's Singapore gateway registered a score of only 34 points, compared to the global average "health" of network connections, which was 86 points as at 3pm Singapore time on Wednesday.

The site first started registering slower response times and packet loss in Singapore at 8pm Tuesday evening.

Cable & Wireless sent ZDNet Asia a status update at 6pm, Singapore time, noting multiple cable breaks have been also detected along the EAC (East Asia Crossing) and SMW 3 (South-East-Asia, Middle-East, Western-Europe) subsea cable networks, in addition to the APCN2.

These breaks have been concentrated specifically near Taiwan, with network traffic "adversely affected in and out of the region as a result," said the operator.

Back in 2006, the APCN2 was taken out by a powerful earthquake in Taiwan. Internet access was reportedly badly disrupted and halted in some parts of Asia after the quake.

2NE1 - 21st Century New Evolution Idol Sensation

2ne1 is a new South Korean female girl group created by YG entertainment. Originally called “21,” the band has since made some new changes to their name. The 21 in the group’s name references the 21st century, while the “ne” of their name stands for New Evolution. The name change was due to a male Korean singer already using the name 21. This band was created by YG to be a female counterpart to their highly successful male pop group, Big Bang.




2ne1 is composed of four different members, Sandara Park, Park Bom (Jenny Park), Kong Min Ji, and Chae Lee (CL or Faith Lee). Unlike most girl bands, 2ne1 has a large variation in age with Sandara Park and Park Bom both being 24 and 25 years old respectively, while Kong Min Ji and Chae Lee are both teenagers at 15 and 19 respectively.

2ne1 released a digital single entitled “Lollipop” with Big Bang on March 26th, 2009. The single was meant to be a promotion for the new Lollipop mobile phones released by LG Cyon. The music video was released on April 3rd, 2009. And latest single and MTV titled "FIRE" ( with several versions like Street and Space ) made them so much popular in the Philippine Entertainment scene and draws to much attentions in all types of pinoy crowds.

The 8th Philippine TOYCON happens in Megamall

It seems in these days of economic crisis and dwindling resources, trivial stuff like toys, hobbies and games would be the furthest thing from people’s minds. But apparently, hobbyists and collectors remain unfazed by this downturn and instead stay steady in anticipation for the next big thing in the pop culture landscape to turn collectible. They don’t have much long to wait, as the biggest event in pop culture, sci-fi/fantasy and mass media touches down in June with an explosive impact!

The 8th Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention 2009 hits hard with the most anticipated gathering of toy distributors, gamers, pop memorabilia collectors and cosplay enthusiasts this side of the planet. This year’s TOYCON will take place on June 13 and 14, at the SM Megatrade Hall 2 and 3 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM.


Highlight for the event this year will be the launch of summer movie blockbusters, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and the much awaited GI JOE: Rise of Cobra. Transformers and GI Joe fans will revel in these two famous toy properties with a collectors’ exhibit and movie merchandising displays from the movie’s distributor, Solar-Pioneer films.

ZX PH will untie its level cap to 150

This is a great news to all ZXPH players or should we say finally the long wait is over but certainly we still waiting for the big announcement and the exact date still unknown. ZX Online Phils ( Zhuxian Online ) started the open beta last December 2008 and published by IPVG e-Games will be lifting the level cap from level 90 to its max level of 150 this June ( still with no definite date ). ZX Online promised more game contents to the game in their Pre- Commercial launched last March 2009. Many players will be back in no time to pursue their wishes to conquer the world of Zhuxian and the adventure continues, sweet.

The added patch will be side by side with the opening and introduction of 4 additional Maps the Incense, Kunlun, South Boundary and Sura. Plus several Double Experience events for all which will lasted until June 12, 2009. After playing this game since its closed beta test last November last year definitely say it catches the interest of many gamers but the very slow distribution of game contents make me wonder if more players will still continue their journey to immortality. Many players asking for additional server(s), but i doubt it if e-Games Phils. have a plans for an expansion. Best advised to the publisher of ZX Online, opening new server right now will be your best strategy / option to gain new players and improved a market share. I just hope that there were no new MMORPG coming to the Philippine scene this mid year. If there are, still wishes that this game will last for a long time. Lack of game content updates is the major factor why many players get easily bored and discontinue their progress to play. I myself is a gamer and we are very much smart now. Lets all help bring back the respect and interest of pinoy gamers to play again our own locally published MMOG.

Dragon Sky : Game FAQs - Part 2

Dragon Sky Closed Beta Testing is still on going. This is the second part of the Q & A topic made by GM Vert and all answered inquiries about this game will also give all the players an easy way to get their questions about Dragon Sky answered in a way that everyone can benefit.

Question: Will this game work with Windows Vista?
Answer:Yes, we are currently testing the game on computers with both Vista and XP.

Will there be more weapons besides those 4?
The four classifactions of weapons will be the only 4 available. Though there will be a variety of weapons to choose from. They all vary, and can look very differnt. For example, under tha Staff Martial Art, you are able to equip nunchucks.


What are the advantages or each faction in terms of pvp/pve ?
There are no advantages specific to any faction. The things that are faction specific are armor sets, and capital cities so far as I can tell. Each faction is equal, and its left up to player skill to change that.

Will there be Faction-based modes of transportation or transformations or movers?
Currently there is a "Super Speed" option that players will get. This will make travelling much easier.

Is it possible to PK players from your own faction?
No, you cannot attack a member of the same faction as you.

Do Dragon Sky have Bosses ?
Yes, there are bosses in DragonSky.

You can really change Faction ?
Yes, you can really change factions. We still have to find out all of the details behind this, but it is a feature of the game. We do know that this is only offered for a limited amount of times per character.

Do story quests are important in this game? How story quests can help us in game?
The story quests help you get involved and interact with your surroundings in DragonSky. They also help your character grow and become a stronger fighter.

Whats the control interface like in this game? Point-and-click movement, with hotkeys? or is it WASD (or <,A,O,E ) movement with click functions? or some other sort of variation?

Is there a jump option that allows you to jump high heights?
You can jump pretty darn high in Dragon Sky. Space bar is the default jump key.

How detailed is the character customization?
You can change your hairstyle, hair color, and face. You can even choose the type of underwear you character wears underneath all their gear.

Are there instanced dungeons in this game or everything is on a shared map ?
There are many instanced dungeons in the game, that allow for both solo and group play. There are also raid bosses, and other forms of awesomeness that allow for a really fun martial arts experience.

Is this game pretty much a grindfest type like some of the past MMORPG?
The leveling system in DragonSky is very different than that found in Shaiya. There are Levels gained through experience, and there are also Zen levels gained through meditation. More on this can be found in the game guide.

Are there a lot of quests?
There are tons of quests, the main towns are filled with them. There are traditional quests to hunt down certain people or collect certain items. And there is the living questline which allows you to become a higher ranked fighter by accomplishing certains tasks.

Durability, will equipment need repair from time to time?
Yes, items will need to be repaired from time to time.

How much room is in backpack and storage?
Each item takes up one slot. Items that can be stacked, such as crafting materials and gathered crops and ore, etc... can be stacked into one slot. Each character has an inventory that consists of 3 pages of 20 slots each page. There are also player-specific warehouses which consist of 3 pages with 20 slots per page.

Will there be anything like Game Guard in this game?
Game Guard starts up when you start up Dragon Sky.

Exteel SEA Open Beta started

Get ready for full-throttle mecha action when Exteel begins its OBT since May 19. During this period, players will be allowed to explore the vast armory of Exteel. All the players can choose from the featured items every week and try them out for free!

To move forward with the mission, download the Final Installer and create an iAM Account. Be advised that there will be no more character or account wipes from this point onward. Be the first to register and play during OBT and reserve the callsign that all Mercenaries of Natha will forever fear.

The mandatory ceasefire signaling the end of the Closed Beta Testing is now at an end. Exteel has now officially begun the next phase of its mission: Open Beta Testing.

The OBT signals the accessibility of the Exteel SEA Servers to the public. Take note that there will no longer be any account wipe and all the accounts, items and PILOT NAMES created during this phase will be retained all throughout the mission.

So what’s in store for our players during the Open Beta? Aside from reserving your unique pilot name, these lucky players will get to try out special featured items for FREE!

Samsung Bendable OLED prototype

We are all looking forward to the days when our computer screens will be as thin as a piece of paper, and it would appear that Samsung’s new ultra-thin flexible AMOLED screen is about ready to herald in that era.

Sure, this 6.5 inch flexible OLED that you see here is just a prototype, but you can at least see how flexible it is. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if you could spindle it. That is, roll it up like a kid who plays “telescope” with an ordinary piece of paper.

Samsung Mobile Display (SMD) show a new 6.5 inch flexible AMOLED Prototype. SMD show this newest flexible AMOLED at the SID 2009 in San Antonio.
Samsung Mobile Display say that this prototype is more flexible than any previous model before.

Also SMD says that the new processes do not require low-temperatures to produce the display and productions costs are now lower than other competitive products. The new process is simpler and improves efficiencies necessary for mass production.

SMD sees many application for that flexible AMOLED (newspaper,epaper, e-passport, military maps, newspaper and many more. The reponse time is more than 1000 times faster as a LCD Panel.

New this year at SID 2009 will be seven sessions dedicated exclusively to various aspects of flexible display technology and developments that will create a host of new business and revenue opportunities across not only consumer-electronics markets, but also military and industrial applications. Dragon Sky Closed Beta Testing is already started and as part of the effort by Aeria's Dragon Sky Game Masters, they put up a Q&A thread to provide everyone with a quick reference for some simple questions of the players may have about anything surrounding DragonSky and its release under Aeria Games. And also to give all the players an easy way to get their questions about DragonSky answered in a way that everyone can benefit. This is the First part of the Dragon Sky Q & A for the benefits of those who like to test out this game like all of my Filipino peers and gamer like me and those some who are too lazy to visit the Dragon Sky forum (just kiddin.)

What is DragonSky?
DragonSky is an MMORPG set in Ancient China. Players must choose between the two opposing factions. The game features a Martial Arts combat system that evolves your gameplay as your character progresses throughout the game.

When will the game be released? / When can I play?

The tentative schedule is as follows:

Alpha: Currently ongoing
Closed Beta: Mid May
Open Beta: Late May
Release of Item Mall: Early June

This schedule is subject to change at any time. Players can gain access to our Beta Testing through our sign-up page which will be posted up when we get to that point. Access to our Closed Beta will be limited to Invitation Only. There will be one character wipe after Closed Beta, but not after our Open Beta. We are aiming for a full launch very soon, so please keep an eye on our forums and website for the newest updates.

Can you Duel other players in the game?
Yes, there will be dueling in the game. There is a whole dueling system in the game which effects your honor in the game. Winning a lot of duels can lead to winning some rare items and weapons.

What is PvP like in DragonSky?
There is the Dueling System explained above. And there are also organized Guild Vs Guild battles in game as well as Faction Vs Faction battles. There is also a Kill Order System in the game, which allows player to place bounties on other players. A player can claim the prize associated with the Kill Order once it has been carried out.

What are the character classes?
There are no classes, but there are different playstyle options based on the martial arts chosen.

Will the classes be restricted to a gender ?
No, classes are not restricted by gender. You might want to continue reading to see how the class system is replaced with other, similar systems.

Names and what types of weapons they use?
The different types of weapons include fist weapons, polearms, pendulums (gigantic maces), and swords. ( All dual weilds possible )

Are there different nations and different classes?
The 'nations' are based on faction. The two factions are the Dragon and the Tiger (Soul of the Dragon and Heart of the Tiger). The martial arts and weapon types are not limited by faction.

Are skills based on weapons only or class to?
Skills are based off of the martial arts chosen and method. The martial arts available generally depend on the weapon type. Skills are split into attack, defense, recovery, and common varieties.

Do you put points into skills while u lvl or do u lvl up skills by using them?
Dragon Sky has two different character development points. Experience points and skill points. Experience points help you level and increase your basic stats. Skill points help increase your proficiency in your skills. To learn most skills you must spend your skill points and a certain amount of money at a training NPC. Some advanced skills may require you to find the martial arts book first.

What are the strength and weaknesses of each class or pros and cons?

There are no classes, so I'll break it down into the weapon types.

Fists - very fast, close range weapons.
Polearms - fairly slow, medium range weapons. Polearms can hit multiple enemies in a single swing.
Maces - the slowest, hardest hitting weapons. Generally have lower damage per second due to interruption techniques. Can knock down/back and hit multiple enemies.
Swords - a balanced weapon that has moderate range, damage per second, and hit amounts.

How does the stat system work?
Attack, defense, hit, dodge, crit, and mind are the stats we've found so far. I do not know yet just how these are modified through the leveling system. I do know there are items that can modify the stats though.

Is there an advantage to be using dual weapons instead of single weapons? For example dual swords and single sword. What are some Pros and Cons?
There are basically 4 different types of weapons. Each with their own set of styles. For example: If you wish to use swords, you will have to study sword combat. Among the 5 different sword styles, 3 utilize combat with one sword, and 2 styles utilize combat with 2 swords. Each style of combat also has it's own stages of development, getting stronger and stronger as you improve (also more intense and elaborate animations). You can be well developed in fighting styles with 1 sword while really lacking in training with dual swords, and vice-versa.

I can't really go into detail as there are an infinite number of ways to go about weapon training and martial arts training with each character. But there are 5 fighting styles unique to each of the 4 different weapons. And each style has it's own stages of development. And each style carries it's own pros and cons.

How is the "class" balance in DragonSky?
Class balance is worked out in sort of a rock-paper-scissors way. Each weapon has a counter weapon which is very effective against it in combat. And at the same time, that same weapon has a weakness to another weapon.

Choosing a class at the character creation screen determines the fighting styles you have available at the beginning of the game. You can learn multiple styles while leveling up, or try to master one. You can be a jack of all trades, but a jack of all trades is a master of none.

Lee Hyori aka Hyori Lee (Lee Hyo-ri) is a popular South Korean singer and actress. She started off as lead singer for the successful K-pop girl group Fin.K.L in 1998, but has since become a solo artist.

Hyori is the youngest daughter of her family. Having a stunning natural beauty, she was discovered while taking pictures with her friends at a photobooth. She was trained under Daesung Entertainment. They assigned her as the leader of a girl-group called Fin.K.L. which stood for Fine Killing Liberty. The other members included Ock Joo Hyun, Lee Jin, and Sung Yuri. The group became incredibly popular in South Korea, and Hyori was the most famous out of their group due to her amazing looks. When Fin.K.L. disbanded, Hyori became a solo artist.


Hyori Lee (이효리), also written as Lee Hyori, Lee Hyolee, and Lee Hyo-ri, was the youngest of three children born to her parents. She is a k-pop singer who was once a member of the K-pop group Fin.K.L. (Fine Killing Liberty). She was discovered while taking pictures in a photo booth and was made into the leader of Fin.K.L. despite being the last member to be picked. Hyori was chosen to be the leader due to her incredibly beautiful look, amazing dance skills, and strong vocals.

Hyori Lee is active in many commercials (called CFs). She represents Samsung, FR Jeans, GGPX New York, Biotherm Korea, G-Market, Dove (company), Delmonte and Samsachun. She also starred in a drama series entitled Three Leaf Clover, however, her acting endeavor was unsuccessful, as the series garnered pretty low ratings.

Her debut solo album in 2003, named Stylish E., was well received in Korea. At the Korean music awards, Hyori Lee won over seven "artist of the year" awards. She released another album with Fin. K.L. in October 2005, but this album was only released online. In 2006, Hyori released her second solo album, titled Dark Angel. The first single of this album, "Get Ya," was accused of plagiarizing Britney Spear's "Why Don't You Do Something." Because of this, Hyori stopped promotion of that single and started focusing on the other songs in her album.

In 2007, Hyori Lee will perform in a new drama entitled If In Love... Like Them, where she will co-star with Lee Dong Gun. The drama is only a 2-episode miniseries. This drama will be produced in partnership with Mnet Media, Hyori's new management agency.

Hyori Lee enjoys dancing, listening to R&B, and she lists her favorite artists as Mariah Carey and Brandy. Drawing and acting are also two of her favorite hobbies.
